The first Transition Town Wimborne meeting
The first Transition Town Wimborne Open Meeting was held last night and was very successful! Suprisingly 20 people turned up for an event that was not widely advertised. Thanks to Dave Higs for placing an advert in the local paper:
And thanks to those who posted copies of the simple poster that I made:
After introducing ourselves and talking about how we heard of Transition Towns, we split into two groups – those who felt very familiar with the concept of Transition and wanted to talk about what can be done in Wimborne, and those who felt they would like an introduction to the idea.
At the end of the meeting, we decided to hold another meeting in around a month’s time and screen a film about Peak Oil. More details to follow soon!
